Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about our private dance lessons, scheduling, pricing, and more.

Getting Started

How do I book a lesson?
Contact us via the form or call 020 8050 3839. We'll arrange a convenient time at our North End Road studio or at your home.
Do I need any dance experience?
Not at all. Our lessons are tailored to your level, whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced dancer.
What should I wear to my first lesson?
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Ballet students may want soft ballet shoes, but socks or bare feet are fine to start. No special equipment is needed.
What age can children start lessons?
We teach children from around age 3 upwards. Younger children focus on creative movement and musicality, while older students develop technique and artistry.

How long is a private lesson?
Private lessons are typically 60 minutes. We can also arrange shorter sessions for younger children or longer sessions for intensive work.
Do you offer packages or discounts?
Yes, we offer multi-lesson packages at reduced rates. Contact us for details on current offers.
Where do lessons take place?
Most lessons take place at our studio on North End Road in Fulham, a short walk from Fulham Broadway station. We also offer home visits across London.

Ballet

Do I need to be flexible to start ballet?
No — flexibility develops over time through regular practice. Your teacher will work with your body as it is and help you build range gradually.
Can adults learn ballet from scratch?
Absolutely. Many of our adult students started with no experience and have made remarkable progress. It's never too late to begin.
Will I need ballet shoes?
Soft ballet shoes are recommended but not essential for your first lesson. Your teacher can advise on what to get after you've started.

Contemporary Dance

What is contemporary dance?
Contemporary dance is an expressive, versatile form that draws on multiple techniques including release, floor work, and improvisation. It emphasises personal expression and creativity alongside technical skill.
Do I need ballet training first?
Not at all. Contemporary dance is a standalone discipline with its own techniques. However, having ballet experience can complement your contemporary training.
Is contemporary dance a good workout?
Very much so. It builds strength, flexibility, coordination, and cardiovascular fitness while also developing creativity and body awareness.
