The Teachers Behind the Method
A small, dedicated team united by world-class training, a genuine love of teaching, and the belief that every student deserves an extraordinary dance education.
Sarah Hirsch
Sarah is a London-based contemporary and ballet dancer, choreographer, and creative producer with dual German and US nationality. She trained in Miami before studying at DAF Dance Arts Faculty in Rome, and holds an MFA in Dance Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she was awarded a prestigious Leverhulme Scholarship.
Her performance career spans some of the most celebrated stages in the UK — from the Royal Opera House and English National Ballet to the Edinburgh Fringe. Equally at home in classical and contemporary settings, Sarah is known for her versatility, her skill in improvisation and collaboration, and her ability to create work that resonates deeply with audiences. Her choreographic works include Magnetoreception and Adira, and she has taken masterclasses and workshops with companies including Akram Khan Company, Ultima Vez, and Gecko Theatre.
Beyond dance, Sarah is a certified interpreter and translator, fluent in English and Italian with conversational French and German. This multilingual, multicultural background informs her teaching — a practice built on deep listening, clear communication, and a genuine understanding that every student brings a unique body and story into the studio.

Jeanne
An independent French dance teacher who began her training with VM Ballet Junior Company in France before earning a BA in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire with First Class Honours. Jeanne has worked with the Royal Academy of Dance, the Royal Ballet School, and West London School of Dance, and currently teaches creative dance to children at Collège Français Bilingue de Londres.
Her teaching style blends technical precision with creativity and artistry — a balance that makes her equally effective with young beginners discovering movement for the first time and experienced dancers refining their craft. Jeanne teaches private ballet and contemporary for all ages and levels.
Laure
A versatile French dance artist and teacher, Laure holds a Contemporary Dance Teacher Diploma from Epsedanse in Montpellier and a BA in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire, both with First Class Honours. She has performed with English National Opera in The Cunning Little Vixen and contributed to site-specific work with Hannah Wallace's Groundmarks Project.
Laure created The Burgeon, a collaborative intensive for emerging artists supported by Trinity Laban's Innovation Award, Chisenhale Dance Space, and Creative Rework. She is currently pursuing an MA in Dance Performance at London Contemporary Dance School. Her teaching blends contemporary dance with physical theatre, offering students a rich and layered approach to movement.
The Method in Our Name
We believe dance should be joyful and deeply personal. There is no single correct way to move — only the way that is right for you, right now. The "Method" in our name is not a fixed system; it is a commitment to shaping every lesson around the individual in front of us. Your goals, your body, your pace.
Our teaching blends discipline with creative freedom. We draw on the rigour of classical ballet and the expressiveness of contemporary dance, but we never impose a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you are working on your first plié or exploring advanced improvisation, the experience is the same: expert guidance, genuine care, and a space where you are free to grow at your own speed.
This is what sets Contemporary Dance Method apart. We are not a factory. We are a small team of dedicated teachers who chose this work because we love it — and because we have seen, time and again, what happens when dance is taught with attention, respect, and joy. That transformation is why we do what we do.
